Israeli forces killed an elderly Palestinian man, on Friday, and injured at least six others, during the army’s continued aggression against the northern West Bank city of Jenin and its camp, for the third consecutive day.
On Friday evening, occupation forces killed a Palestinian man and injured at least six other citizens in various areas of the city of Jenin, including a doctor and two paramedics.
According to medical sources, Israeli forces shot and killed the elderly, Tawfiq Ahmad Younis Qandeel, 83, in the eastern neighborhood of Jenin.
The Palestinian Red Crescent Society (PRCS) said that its ambulance crews transported the slain man and another injured citizen to the hospital, adding that soldiers opened fire at their ambulance.
The PRCS added that its ambulance crews also transported two other citizens who sustained live gunshot wounds, one whom soldiers shot while he was in the vicinity of the Al-Razi Hospital, and another who sustained a live gunshot wound to the leg while he was in the Jenin city center.
Meanwhile, occupation forces shot a Palestinian doctor and two PRCS paramedics, while they were working in Jenin city, late Friday afternoon.
The PRCS said that soldiers opened fire at one of their on-duty ambulances and shot Dr. Nidal Al-Arda with live ammunition in the hand, while two paramedics sustained shrapnel wounds from live rounds in their faces; all three victims were transported to hospital.
Media sources said that Israeli soldiers targeted a group of journalists with live fire, on Friday afternoon, while they were covering the army’s continued incursion in the city.
At dawn Friday, a large army force continued to invade and search citizens’ homes while detaining, abusing, and interrogating them in the eastern neighborhood of the city.
Media sources said that Israeli soldiers stormed several homes in the eastern neighborhood, in the vicinity of Khalid bin al-Walid Mosque, and abducted an unknown number of young men.
Before day Friday, the Israeli military assassinated three Palestinian young men in the town of Zababda, south of Jenin.
The three slain young men were identified as Maysara Suleiman Abdul Masharqa, 33, Arafat Jasser Ahmad Amer, 27, and Wissam Ayman Zidan Khazem, 30.
Before dawn Friday, at least one Israeli soldier was killed and others injured after Palestinian resistance fighters targeted military vehicles in the eastern neighborhood of the city.
Al-Jazeera quoted the Al-Qassam Brigades, the military wing of the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) who said their fighters in Jenin set up an ambush targeting Israeli military vehicles with an explosive device, killing an occupation soldier and injuring others.
It added that resistance fighters exchanged fire with the army in the eastern neighborhood while soldiers besieged the Khalid bin al-Walid Mosque and invaded citizens’ homes nearby.
